Jason Skinner, born in Edenton NC, started playing guitar at the age of 12. But his true passion came a year later when he started playing the banjo. Jason was immediately drawn to the unique banjo style of Don Reno. At age 32, he's spent the last 20 years studying the Don Reno style and has become one of the top Reno pickers in the country. Jason leads his own band, The Skinner Family Band, that consists of his wife and two children. He also writes the Reno Style Banjo column for The Banjo Newsletter.
